  • Condition: Looks to be in excellent condition considering it is over 110 years old. Rope beautifully intact. There may have been an ornament (eagle?) on top of the metal cap that is no longer there. All else seems perfectly intact.

    WWI German Military Parole Heimat Flask
    Vintage 1912-1914 Imperial German Ceremonial Parole Heimat Glass Lined Metal Flask or Canteen. The flask has a metal screw top drink cup with inner cap which seals the glass flask. It retains the original rope tether. The Canteen flask measures about 6 1/2 inches from top of the cap to bottom of flask and about 4 3/4 inches in diameter across the Canteen flask. The rope is a

    Red, white and black rope strap that wraps around the flask with two tassles hanging from it. It is
    about 56 inches in length.
    The front of the Canteen says
    Parole Heimat
    in large red letters. In the center is the number 135 and to its left is a photograph of a man. Underneath it says
