    Description

    Original WWI Prussian Infantry Button.  This was the type used in the
    1870 Franco-Prussian War,
    but many old veterans were activated into the German army as the war dragged on, poor sods.
    Condition is fair. Back marked with a barely discernible 'Extra Fein".   2 piece clad button with strong shank, it depicts the Prussian Crowned Eagle holding orb and scepter, within a Crowned Shield.  Much of the gilded paint remains; a little rust on the reverse.
