Restorable 60s vintage Cox 1/24 scale Lotus 40 slot car

This Cox 1/24 scale Lotus 40 should be a fairly easy restoration for a hobbyist with some basic modeling skills.  The body still has its exhausts, intakes, and clear headlight covers.  The other parts needed for restoration - driver figure, windshield, fuel fillers, and roll bar - are available from online sources either as NOS items or resin reproductions.  The body shell itself is solid and intact except for some damage to the left rear fender.  That will need some work with sheet styrene and body filler to repair.  there is also a small area of damage from excessive glue at the center of the cockpit that needs to be cleaned up.  The body posts are all present and intact with the brass inserts for the body mounting screws all present. The screws are also present. The complete running chassis is not missing any parts.  It will need a complete disassembly to remove the usual oxidation from all the magnesium parts and give them a coating to retard oxidation going forward..  We bench-tested the 36-D motor and it revs quite willingly.  The buyer will probably want to replace the existing non-original lead wires with modern silicone-insulated wire for both appearance and reliability.  The tires are all vintage Cox and appear restorable, but if you plan to run the car you will probably want to fit a pair of new aftermarket urethane rear tires, also available from online sources.
