GP Style Indy Racer Slot Car 1:24 Scale with High Quality Wood Display Stand
Vintage 1956 Mercedes Benz GP style body with opening front hood
Original vintage Revell Chassis with drop arm
New 26k RPM motor, gears & axles
Brass bushing BOTH front and rear for smooth running with steel springs to maintain axle balance
Carefully cut front and side grill vents, normally these were solid and would not allow air to flow in or out and so the time was taken to make actual functional front grill slots to allow air in and side slots to let warm air out, it is little details such as this that make this a unique one of a kind limited edition collectors piece
This car is a quick rocket ship on the track, see my test video for a test run on our technical test track as well as a detailed description of the car, stand and there will be a bonus media disk included as an additional bonus highlighting some clips and interviews of Sir Stirling Moss and his legendary racing career.
The car includes NOS alloy wheels with custom milled front tires for a true narrow front wheel base as well as a custom exhaust pipe with a custom resonator
Nice clean yet appropriate livery and a detailed Sir Stirling Moss driver wearing his favorite plain white leather cap instead of a traditional helmet
Detailed Engine bay
The Revell chassis is easily removable for any lubrication or desired servicing with 3 simple screws/nuts-bolts.
Chassis Removal:
Just open the front hood and set a small nut wrench and then use a small flat head screw driver to unscrew the 2 bolts holding the front portion of the chassis on, next move to the rear were you will find a slightly larger dual purpose screw, you can use either a larger flat head or a appropriate Philips screw driver to unscrew the 3
rd
and final bolt hold the chassis to the body. Once these are removed, you can simply pull on the front of the chassis and pull forward and the chassis will easily slide out. No need to worry about damaging any plastic as there are several layers of high grade steel in between the plastic mounts to keep the 3 fasteners in place. None of this is necessary as all cars are lubricated, tested and properly packaged before being boxed and shipped but it is nice to know that the option is there.
Next we move on to the traditional metallic silver paint common for German racers and as Sir Stirling liked many cars he was often drawn to Mercedes Benz or smaller British racing outfits and thus it was appropriate to make this commemorative car and display a Mercedes Benz as it was Stirlings favorite.
The display is made from 2 types of high quality wood, that has been carefully assembled, painted, and decorated with Sir Stirling’s name, DOB & DOD, as well as some of his major achievements, he truly was one of racings great champions living a long a colorful life.
Dimensions of the display are approximately:
11” Long (left to Right)
9” Wide-Deep (front to back)
8” Height (base to top of rear checker board)
This car, like Sir Stirling is a fast rocket ship of a slot car with a clean and classic livery
