WW1 RNWMP  RCMP Depot in Regina, SK.Match Box Holder
In 1918 150 members of the RNWMP were sent to to Russia to assist the Serbians and Czech in defending against the Germans. These soldiers and members were recruited predominantly from the northern prairies and the Edmonton area. They were then trained at the RCMP Depot in Regina, SK., before being trained, along with their horses to Vancouver, were a boat took them to Russia. They returned home in spring of 1919, after losing several members to the Spanish Flu and meningitis.  This Match box holder was engraved during their largely uneventful stay.
